Hand Therapy
Patients with limitations or dysfunctions of the hands, wrists, elbows, and shoulders realize the best possible outcomes
from the hand therapy provided by University Orthopaedic Associates. Hand therapy, which merges the philosophies and practices of occupational and physical therapies, involves assessment, planning, and rehabilitative treatment to promote prevention, reverse progression of disease or injury, and restore function—all to enhance a patient’s ability to perform everyday tasks and fully enjoy life. UOA also offers Nerve Conduction Study, which identifies the presence of peripheral nerve damage by assessing how well and how quickly nerves can transmit electrical signals to other parts of the body. Patients suffering from nerve and muscle disorders of the hand, such as carpal tunnel syndrome and cubital tunnel syndrome, can benefit from having a nerve conduction study (NCS).
With extensive experience and comprehensive knowledge of the upper-limb structure, our hand therapy specialist works closely with our orthpaedic specialists to return you to your pre-injury level of activity.
