Foot and ankle care includes everything from sprains, fractures and arthritic conditions of the toes, feet and ankles.
Feet and ankles are some of the most frequently injured areas of the human body, and these injuries and conditions can occur at any stage of life. From traumatic injuries to sports injuries, our experts have wide experience in state-of-the-art treatments for them all.
At UOA, we employ medical, physical, and rehabilitative methods, including surgery when indicated, to treat you. Our experts perform reconstructive procedures, treat sports injuries, and manage and treat trauma of the foot and ankle.
Our foot and ankle expert is Dr. Kevin Kirk. Dr. Kirk is fellowship trained in Foot & Ankle Surgery. This means advanced knowledge and experience in the role and treatment of this specialized practice.
Unique to Dr. Kirk is his vast experience as an orthopedic foot and ankle surgeon in the U.S. Military, including tours of duty in Afghanistan in this role, as well as holding positions of Chief of Orthopedic Surgery and Foot & Ankle Surgery at military medical centers. In addition, Dr. Kirk has completed over 10 specialized certifications and training courses.
A unique procedure that Dr. Kirk performs is a total ankle replacement. This makes UOA one of the rare locations in the area where this surgery is performed. Total ankle replacement is a surgical solution for those with painful and limiting arthritis of the ankle. The surgery can relieve that pain and return range of motion in the formerly arthritic ankle joint. It is an alternative to ankle fusion, which can relieve pain but which inhibits motion.
