Dr. Kayiaros

Stephen Kayiaros, MDDr. Stephen Kayiaros, a board certified orthopaedic surgeon with a subspecialty in Adult Reconstruction and Joint Replacement and Orthopaedic Trauma, was featured on the evening of February 16 in an informative and insightful one-hour appearance on WCTC 1450 AM radio’s “Sound Advice” program with Bert Baron.

Dr. Kayiaros’ clinical interests include minimally invasive same-day hip replacement surgery, partial and total knee replacement surgery, post-traumatic joint replacement and other orthopaedic procedures.

During the show, Dr. Kayiaros discussed his background, his approach to healthcare and also took calls from listeners.

“The patients that I see want to get back into normal every day activities without pain,” Dr. Kayiaros said. “It’s an instantaneous gratification seeing patients who are quite debilitated from an arthritic hip or knee undergo surgery and afterwards are able to walk again pain free and are able to go on a hike or play nine holes of golf without being in pain. It’s very rewarding in that regard.”

Some of the highlights of the broadcast include the following:

  • One caller sought Dr. Kayiaros’ expert opinion on the causes and treatments of arthritis.
  • Dr. Kayiaros reviewed the types of procedures performed on an outpatient basis.
  • Dr. Kayiaros explained the process of going through same-day surgery and recovering at home.
  • Another caller was interested in the doctor’s opinions and analysis about the materials he prefers to use and why in joint replacement surgery.
