Out-Patient (Same Day) Joint Replacement Surgery

When performed in a hospital, the average over-night stay for a joint replacement procedure is typically 3-5 days. Due to new technology and advanced training, for select patients, our highly skilled surgeons can perform joint replacement procedures on an out-patient basis. Patients can go home the same day to recover with no over-night stay at a hospital or in-patient rehabilitation facility.

Our surgeons perform out-patient joint replacement surgery at University Center for Ambulatory Surgery, which is conveniently located on the third floor of our Somerset location. Procedures that can now be done on an out-patient basis include total hip replacement, as well as total and partial knee replacement.  Many of these procedures have minimally invasive options which decreases the risk of complications and recovery time. Our anesthesia team is expertly trained in out-patient joint replacement, ensuring you return home pain free following your procedure.

If you are considering joint replacement surgery and want to see if you are a candidate for out-patient joint replacement surgery, contact our office to make an appointment with one of our joint replacement surgeons.
